Hi everyone! 🌼
Thank you all for your recent support and patients with my posting schedule. I am working on getting a space ready for filming and this week has been completely boiling here in the UK! Which if any of you know is the worst weather for doing heavy duty DIY's.
Quick disclaimer: I am in no way a plant expert, I just love plants and the ones I have are somehow alive so I must be doing something right. The things I do to keep mine alive work with my specific conditions, including the sunlight I have and the weather we get in the UK.
All of these plants are ones that I keep in my bedroom and they are only a small portion of what we have in our home, but these ones are mine and how I take care of them!
🌼 Ivy 🌼
Ivy is one of my favourite plants and we have it growing all over the garden! It is one of the first plants I managed to keep alive, other than a succulent, and is one of the first plants I propagated.

Mine is a variegated ivy and with most plants that are variegated, the further from light they are the more they loose their variation, but mine has managed to keep some of the differentiation in colour considering it is one of the furthest plants from natural light.
I propagated 8 vines of this and 6 rooted which is actually really good, I then put all 6 together in a pot and it is doing really well. I don't add any form of plant food or fertiliser just plain compost.
I then add a little sand to the tops of each plant, this just helps to keep moisture in and ensure that no mould will grow on top of the soil.
I water my ivy once a week or when I notice the top of the soil getting dry. I water them before I go bed and then in the morning if there is a lot of water gathered in the pot I tip that away to ensure none of them get root rot.
🌼 Unknown Plant🌼

This plant is actually one I don't know. I use an app called Plantnet to identify my plants and I haven't been able to find the name for this one!
I found this one growing in our poly-tunnel along with all the vegetables! It was a small plant with two little leaves at first and now, 4 months on it's doing great!
I keep it in a hanging macrame pot and I water it every couple of days with very little water because it is quite far away from the window and I'm unsure what water and light it may need.
So far it seems to be thriving and I'm really happy with its growth rate. It is also really important to keep turning your plants, mine grow toward the light so every couple of weeks I try to turn the plants to keep them all standing the right way and not leaning too far in one direction.
🌼 Tiger Aloe🌼
Tiger aloe is one of the easiest plants to care for and it makes its own little babies! I had two gifted to me by a family friend and since then they have thrived and thrived to the point where I'm actually giving them away as gifts.

I have a glass dish that is my own little cactus garden with moss, Tiger aloe and some graptopetalum macdougallii. I am looking to add some more little cacti to this pot but they are currently rooting.
All cacti love good drainage so I put some stones in the bottom and a little sprinkle of soil and then moss. This creates the perfect drainage and as its glass I can water it, and see when all of the water is gone.
I water this a little bit every couple of weeks to ensure I'm not over watering it. It is in partial shade and partial light, but in the winter I am planning on moving it nearer to a window to ensure it gets enough light to continue to thrive.
🌼 Asparagus Fern 🌼

This asparagus fern is one of my favourite plants I own, my mum had it in our downstairs bathroom for years and I am so glad I got my hands on it. It has recently been moved and re potted so it is a little yellow in some areas, but this is some simple ware on the plant.
For a short while it was too close to the sunlight and so it began to yellow and I decided to move it into a better place where it can hopefully get a better amount of growth.
Asparagus ferns don't like an awful lot of light so this hangs about 1 foot away from my window in a shell plant hanger. I made the shelf so I could have room for more plants and I couldn't help but fill it.
I water my fern a little bit every other day to ensure the pot isn't holding too much water and becoming too heavy as it is quite a big pot that's hanging. This is another plant that, when the winter comes, I will hang closer to the window.
On the shelf below I added two plants in terracotta pots, one with a string of beads plant and the other with sedum in.
🌼 String of beads & Sedum🌼

String of beads absolutely love bright but indirect light so this is the perfect place for my string of beads. I water this a little every couple of days because it is a succulent, but it does seem to drink a lot.
I treat the sedum the same as the string of beads because it seems to be thriving really well. The string of beads, I actually got from depop from a really lovely seller. I will say be careful who you purchase from. I purchased two lots and one lot was sent, by another seller, without roots and in really bad condition.
The sedum is something I took cuttings of, from our garden and its really loving being inside, out of the direct sunlight.
🌼 Japanese Rubber Plant🌼

This plant is one, again from outdoor's and from my mothers collection and honestly, this is my least favourite plant.
It has been the hardest plant of mine to keep happy, it has been loosing leaves, wanting water, then being over watered. It has been very hard to find a balance for this plant and I just feel no matter what I do it is NOT happy.
So this plant is actually going to be taken back outside and re-planted out there. I am going to replace this plant with something else but for now I wanted to include it as it is one of the only ones I am struggling to keep.
I have googled Japanese rubber plant's constantly trying to find the correct location and watering times for this plant but it is just not thriving where it is so I think it's best to give it a new life somewhere else.
🌼 Maidenhair Fern🌼
Any of you that follow my instagram will see that a few weeks ago on my story I posted how utterly close to death this poor plant was.

Maidenhair fern's are one of the plants I used to absolutely despise! Simply because I could never keep them alive, but in nursing this plant back to health I have found a really good balance of what light it needs, how much water and also temperature.
Temperature is actually really important when you are bringing plants back to life, you have to make sure they aren't in a place where they are going to get a harsh draught as this can really affect the growth rate and stunt the amount of new growth it will produce.
I water this one really well once a week, ensuring it's really got a good soaking before putting it back into the pot. I also keep this in a large pot to ensure it has enough room to spread and grow. I also trim any leaves that are going brown or crispy to ensure that there is no excess energy being pushed into the dying leaves.
That is it for this post! I didn't want to include all of my plants in one go as it is a lot. This week covered all plants in my room that aren't on my windowsill, apart from one. I am so excited to share the part 2 with you guys in the near future and hope you really loved this post!
As always thank you all so much for your support, a comment, like, even a read means so much to me!
I hope you all have a lovely evening and a bright weekend,
