Halloween Gift Giving šŸ‚šŸŽƒ

Hey there spooky little friends!

I know it's after Halloween, but in my heart I'm wishing Halloween would come around all over again! For the past few years me and my sister have been doing our annual Halloween tradition of gift giving and of course there are cards šŸŽƒ

In our gift giving we identify a good budget - £10 is the limit for the card and the present and the gift must be autumnal, spooky, Halloween-ie or simply something nice. This year I really struggled to get gifts for people that were autumnal and all of our local shops had really neglected their usual Halloween ornaments and gifts.

So let us dive in!

I decided to give gifts this year to my sister, or as some of you will know her over on Instagram @Primrosedoe , my partner @Blackphlomp and my friend @meyaamberdesigns so it was a busy Halloween!

šŸ‚ Gift exchanges šŸ‚

Meya is a great friend and artist and so I knew I wanted to get her something she could really use! We both have a love of Disney so I decided to get her the twisted tale of Aladdin which is a darker tale of what may have happened if Aladdin hadn't found the genie lamp and this was actually a charity shop find so it left plenty of room in the £10 budget! I then decided to give her a home made candle which was lavender scented, this wasn't exactly conforming to the autumnal side of things but I couldn't not give it to her! I then gave her some ribbon and a small acorn wall hanging because that was as close to autumn as I could get!

Unfortunately I completely forgot to get some photos of the items before I sent them to her but I did manage to get photos of everything else!

Meya got me the most amazing sweets that were 100% organic, gluten free and vegan, they were cat shaped and so cute! She also got me a gorgeous bar of Erbario Toscano Verbena soap and it had the most amazing lemon scent.

As you can see I instantly ripped into the parcel's and gifts before remembering to take a photo.

There is also a lovely candle by Willow and Pear in the flavour Pumpkin spice and wow it's so good. Not too strong or overpowering but really nice with subtle hints of ginger and caramel that really make it the perfect Autumn scent.

She also sent me the cutest little card with a black pug on that looked exactly like Dart in a witches hat! The gifts were so thoughtful and I appreciated them so so much.

My partner Ben is so completely creative I had no idea what to get him, but I knew I wanted to make it myself because he always goes way out on presents they're always really well thought of and creative. As our 1 year anniversary was only a couple of weeks ago I figure I will also include those presents!

Ben is a complete lover of steak so I got him his very own, quite good quality steak knives. Recently we've been trying to get into cooking for each other and not relying so

much on takeaway food so I'm so excited for us to start cooking steak! I also got him a variety of glasses and alcohol ink's to make his own light bottles. He really loves all things creative so I wanted to get something he could create to his own taste and something he could have fun creating.

For our anniversary he embroidered me my own Halloween jumper and I am so so in love with it, it is possibly the favourite thing I now own.

I was looking for a Halloween jumper for so long and he made his own design and embroidered every piece of it by hand! I could not believe how much effort he put into the gift it was so kind of him and I can't thank him enough for it!

I plan on wearing this year round and keeping it safe for a very very long time!

Now for the Halloween gifts; I've been really enjoying working with clay lately so I decided to make something out of clay for Ben, I found the idea for a spooky but cute little ghost ornament and I really wanted to embellish a plant pot for him! It may sound unusual but were both a fan of plants and I knew he would appreciate it šŸŽƒ

I'd been really loving the crackle technique but when looking for crackle paint it was so so expensive so I decided to DIY my own crackle paint and it worked so incredibly well!

You paint your piece with whatever colour you want underneath and once that is dry add a thick layer of PVA glue and whilst its still wet add a coat of whatever paint you like. Obviously trying not to disturb the PVA too much else it won't give the crackle effect.

The technique actually worked really well and the ghosts are the cutest! I have a lot of these that I'm wanting to sell, I realise it is after Halloween but myself, I'm planning on having these in my home all year round. I also added the mushrooms to the little planter and it came

out so cute I was so happy with the finish on both of these items.

I also included a little tealight so he could light it up and it looks so nice in his space šŸŽƒ

For Halloween I told Ben he had to stick to the budget of £10, which was very hard for him because he NEVER sticks to a budget, always goes over no matter what!

He got me some of the most amazing cakes he ordered from his brother's partner, her cakes have the most amazing frosting on them, so much that I ate two and made myself feel sick!

Low and behold, again he went over the budget, but I did share the cakes with him so I guess it's ok!

But it was completely worth it! Some of them had cute little pumpkins and others had witches, typography that said "No tricks just treats" and "It's all a lot of hocus pocus" They were the cutest little cakes!

I posted a couple of pictures over on my personal Instagram @Pandemoniumxjo and tagged her shop over there for those who are interested.

We agreed on no cards because our anniversary had just passed, it seemed somewhat redundant to make another card for each other.

Last but not least - Primrosedoe. Me and my sister always get each other Halloween presents and cards, and this year with everything going on, I almost forgot the card. I know I couldn't believe it - Idiot.

She is the only person I don't struggle to buy for when it comes to presents. She's recently really been into crochet so I had to get her some wool, and Aldi had the cutest baby wool it reminded me of candy corns so I had to dive at it and get it!

This isn't the best picture but it is honestly the softest wool. I didn't know what she may use it for but I really hope she makes something cute and creative from it.

I also decided to get her a couple books as she is a very avid reader and I know these books would be of interest.

I had a horrible experience where I ordered "The tales of beedle the bard" On Depop and of course it didn't show up, but luckily for me I got my money back and I found a new copy on Depop cheaper and it turned up super fast so that was a little silver lining šŸŽƒ

The other book is also a dark Disney book called "The beast within" which is an alternate story to the "Beauty and the beast" Story we all know! I managed to find four of these in the charity shop all depicting different fairy tales that had gone dark and they were such a steal! I gave her this one but did say if she wished to swap it for any of the others, the option was there!

She then got me some of the cutest stuff šŸŽƒ

She got me one of my favourite types of candy, Reese's pieces! They are by far my favourite chocolate treat, the mid of chocolate and peanut butter, who wouldn't love it.

She also got me the nicest autumn coloured liquid lip that I can't wait to try and she crocheted me four of my own pumpkin coasters that are seriously so sweet and I can't wait to put these around my room.

That's all the stuff I gave and got for Halloween, obviously this year wasn't as great as we would've liked as we usually do a few things leading up to Halloween, and with covid this year we couldn't do that.

But this year I got to hang out with Ben and make some great little clay ornaments and we got to watch some of the new Alienist leading up to it which I am completely obsessed with!

Thank you as always for reading and congratulations if you made it this far through the post! I can't thank you enough for your support, it always means a lot to me and keeps me being creative!
