The Horizon - A Late Summer Poem

Hi everyone! 🌼

Thank you all so much for voting over on my Instagram stories! This time there was actually a 50%-50% split on whether to do a DIY or creative writing post and since its been so long I had to go with a creative writing post!

Unfortunately this is not one of my usual creative writing posts, I wanted to mix it up a bit further with a poem! It's been so long since I've written any poems I wanted to get back to it and there's nothing better than a good old blog post!

Quick disclaimer, this post is in no way meant to cause offence to anyone or detract away from the current situation. It is simply my words and my interpretation of what I'm experiencing at this time. It is meant for entertainment purposes only and has been written by me.

This poem is about the summer transition to autumn and honestly I really love this poem, its exactly as I wanted it to be!

🌼 The Horizon 🌼

This spring and summer,

Has been one to remember,

But finally my favourite time,

Is nearing.

I can't help but listen,

And see,

Changes,

Climbing the horizon.

The nights that last,

A little longer than what had,

In the humid days before.

Sunflowers bloom a surprise,

Of colour,

In forms of yellows,

And orange hues.

Beloved plants begin to bolt,

And leaves darken up.

Autumn is nearing,

And all I'm hearing,

Are sounds of sweet,

Fresh air.

A chilled breeze,

Bought by trees,

Not knowing the job,

Their doing.

I'll ready myself,

For pumpkins are growing,

And winter veg is set.

Grab your boots and jumper,

A cup of coffee of course.

Because I'm hearing,

That Autumn is nearing,

Once more.
