Indoor Spring - A Quarantined Poem

Hello everyone! 🌼

Hope you are all doing well during this trying time! I decided to sit down and write a short poem for this weeks blog post as I felt I needed to put my emotions into something creative at this time!🌼

Quick disclaimer, this post is in no way meant to cause offence to anyone or shame anyone who is currently struggling with the particular virus at hand. I can not show enough appreciation to all of the key workers, that are risking their lives everyday to help us all, and the people staying inside to stop the spread of the virus.

Look at it,

Out there.

The sun,

Left alone to stare,

In our empty world.

The people remain inside,

To protect the ones they love,

Whilst the sun beams for nature,

Brightening the conditions,

And easing our position.

Our earth will thank us greatly,

But people rely on ignorance,

Go out into the world,

It won’t make a difference,

The arrogant say,

We all wish we didn't have to live this way.

But our means have been stretched,

Whilst kids lay in hospital beds,

It asks questions,

As people are begging on the streets,

For information of where to lay their heads,

And where to rest their feet.

People making commission,

From illness and a disposition,

To create fortune from death,

And ill health,

We thank the nurses,

The staff that don’t think about their purses.

But that think of others,

As they risk their lives,

To save the arrogant who will not stay away.

And i’ll remain inside,

To protect the ones who could’ve died.

This is serious,

Not a joke or precaution,

People are dying and left without their voices.

So follow the lead,

Examples to proceed,

Forward,

Save the lives that can be saved,

Stay home and stay safe.

So we can beat this together.
